The .7" of rain (local and spotty) we received a week ago is long gone. Very hot temperatures. Everything is brown and crispy. Streams are very low. Not much wind and few fire starts, so no fires around here, but we are getting smoke from Oregon and Washington. Dry thunderstorms predicted today with a brief and slight cool down. Bitterroot Nationl Forest had banned campfires but lifted the ban after spotty rainfall a week ago, even though it is now just as dry and hot as it was. They are short on fires this year, but are trying! Surrounding forests still have campfire bans.
