According to my records we have had 0.02" of rain in the last 35 days -- since the floods in July. Meanwhile, it has been around 100 degrees daily for over a week, and anything not getting some sort of watering is pretty well dried out. Cracks are appearing again in our lovely blackland clay soils; burn bans are being issued; and birds are flocking to out fountain. Watering restrictions have generally been followed for the last couple of years -- good community habits have taken hold, even with high lake levels at the moment.
