Station Name: Glen Haven 0.4 WSW
Report Date: 8/22/2026
Submitted: 8/22/2026 7:59 AM
Scale Bar: Near Normal
Description:
For week of 16-22 Aug: (0+ 0+ 2.0+ 26.5+ T+ 0.5+ 0)= 29.0mm Near Normal. High's: +21C to +28C, Hx to +33C; Low's: +20C to +11C; Wind: Mostly calm, the odd breeze SV to 15km/hr; Dew: 2 heavy dew. This week was very warm, not hot, with a lesser Hx. We got one very good rain overnight, 26.5mm. That put some moisture back into the ground. The other precip was light showers. Trees, shrubs and plants are doing well. Avg Hx is still in low 30's, but quite bearable. Streams and creeks are still below seasonal norm. The deer have been absent both this week and last. Typical for Aug. They rotate their grazing grounds. Tourism is strong and on-going. In one traffic line-up on Peggy's Cove Rd, due to overhead work, there were 4 double-decker buses full of sight-see'rs. Hope they like the view. We are under a SWSt for Sun AM into Mon PM, for prolonged heavy rain, 50 to 100mm, for mainland NS. And to close, our NS burn Ban map currently shows all of NS Yellow. This potential rain could turn us Green.
