With another 0.54” of rain this week conditions remain near normal for August. The Pascoag Reservoir has dropped to 8’11” but is still relatively high for this time of year and the usual summer activities like boating and fishing continue. Kingbirds, waxwings, sparrows, finches and woodpeckers remain busy and the hummingbirds remain regular visitors to the feeder. The lawn is healthy looking and green and needs weekly mowing and the cherry tomatoes are producing at a high rate. Fire danger at George Washington state campground is posted as Low. Summer is starting to wind down.
