Description:
0.02” of rain received last week. 2.09” of Evapotranspiration. Temps were hot - five days above 100 degrees F, other two days were 98 and 99, morning lows were split between 70s and low 80s. Heat Index over one hundred every day. Five days had Heat Advisory Alert and several days under an Elevated Fire Threat due to the dry and breezy conditions with low humidity. Currently under D0 Drought Status. This station has only had 0.23” of rain in the last 31 days. Of those 31 days, 15 days have been at or above one hundred degrees. Supplemental watering of container plants twice during the week. Grass is still brown and crunchy of course. Bird baths are still busy. Bumblebees are extremely busy. Back to school started for local schools. Story for the week - hot and dry. No relief in sight.
