Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: IA-LN-49
Station Name: Cedar Rapids 2.1 NW
Report Date: 8/16/2026
Submitted: 8/16/2026 1:06 PM
Scale Bar: Near Normal
Description:
No drought continues. Total received thus far for the month 4.78. 5 days of zeros and 11 days of precip. This puts us around half an inch above normal for the month already according to NOAA and PRISM normals. In addition, this is the most rain received for the Station in the Month of August since the period of record. AC and fans required daily. The sliding door and a few others are still difficult to open and close due to humidity. Dew points stayed on the increase as did the temps and heat indices. Glasses fogged up upon entering and exiting cool buildings. The windows in vehicles did the same. Increase in Moths. Increase in mushrooms. Severe weather events occurred, no damage at location. Just small twigs, branches, and bird nesting materials. Pretty sure they got evicted by Mother Nature. Finally able to mow today, and perhaps might even see the Sun! Overall Mood, since last CMR report most were more adapted to the steamy heat this time around. Enjoy the last days of Summer before going back to school, if you have not started already : ) : ) Continue to be Safe and WRN as the temps, humidity, dew points, heat indices, and storm chances are possible as we head into the week.
