Description:
A persistent marine layer for most of the week held temperatures lower with a correspondingly low evapotranspiration amount of 0.38".  Average high 67.1 degrees, low 55.6 degrees, with 0.02" drizzle.Ruth Lake Reservoir at 86% on 8/10, and no change in Drought Map.  Inland rivers continue warm with slight drops in flow.  The Mile Post 18 fire in Hoopa continues to expand in steep terrain, now over 5200 acres and 14% contained.  Evacuations have happened and air quality is poor.  This weekend saw several annual events happening including Reggae on the River in Southern Humboldt, the county fair and the 62nd Salmon Festival in Klamath.  A week from Monday Cal Poly Humboldt's fall semester begins, so Arcata will be coming back to life.
