On the morning of the 14th, I measured 3.81 inches of rain that occurred in two events, one in the morning and then overnight. That is the most rainfall since 6/26/18 and the 4th greatest rainfall since starting Cocorahs obs in August 2007. So far nearly six and a quarter inches have fallen in August which is four inches above normal. Needless to say, the ground is wet. There are one foot deep trenches in the dirt road now since the county has not maintained anything around here since winter. The trenches are working back into the gravel road to our location. The pond is running into the spillway. Crops are amazing and I can not keep ahead of the lawn and associated weeds. Small rivers near me rose rapidly, but have already fallen. The Des Moines River just north of me jumped 8 feet, and is slowly falling now. Humidity has been relentless.
