Rainfall has been sparse.  Soil is very dry. The nearby town of Clear Lake has implemented watering restrictions.  The nearby Mississippi river is under  Drought Warning Response Phase: a “storage drought”, classified as a critical depletion of lake levels, soil moisture and groundwater. Fire danger is moderate.
