Drought conditions have worsened this week due to no rainfall and high temperatures. The 4 week rain total is 0.4”. Temperatures have been in the upper 90s each day with lots of sunshine and wind. Plants and crops are suffering and most grasses are brown now with other plants severely wilting. Trees are changing color and dropping leaves. Local pastures and farms are suffering due to the drought. I am trying to keep the bedding plants around the house watered to keep everything from dying but have given up on the vegetable garden. Soil moisture is extremely low and temperatures are so high that trying to water is nearly pointless at this stage. Wildfire danger is high and there is a county wide burn ban in effect.
