Week of (8/9/26-8/15/26) observed less precipitation compared to last week. The precipitation observed during this week was 0.29 inches of precipitation. The amount of precipitation measured was more than the last update of 1.00 inches of precipitation for the previous week of (8/2/26-8/8/26). There was 1.29 inches of precipitation so far that was recorded at station NY-MR-89 for the month of August compared to the normal climatology precipitation at KROC airport for the month is 1.70 inches of precipitation. Conditions have remained the same since the last update from last week with the area seeing less measurable precipitation in the form of liquid over this past week and the area is still remaining drought free. The area is currently considered near normal and conditions had dried up and the ground has remained dried up with no standing water since the last update due to the area receiving more precipitation in the form of rain since there has been a lot of measurable rainfall last month in May, June and July and this had caused the area to receive an abundance of moisture the area had received in the past in general, but the grass is very green and vibrant in the front and back yard. The sump pump hasn’t been pumping very much during the entire week despite the ground starting to dry up. Outdoor activities have been good this week with most of the days this week had dry weather and wet weather for a few days this week with still plenty of dry time this week to walk on local canal path and along with near average to slightly above average temperatures and streams water levels are still holding at low levels along with some seasonably cooler than normal to slightly seasonably warmer air in the environment (Sunday-Saturday). The air conditioner has been working average for the entire this week due to slightly cooler than normal temperatures during the week with some days with slightly above average temperatures (as much as 4 degrees Fahrenheit above average for high and low temperatures during the week and as much as 4 degrees Fahrenheit below average for high and low temperatures during the week). The ground is drier this week and the drainage area in the backyard has no standing water. The grass is green and vibrant with all the moisture that had fallen over this past week along with full foliage on the trees. The front yard needed to be hand mowed twice this week along with vegetation such as Dogwoods and trees in the backyard are doing good and some manual watering was needed for a potted plant for some days this week and the grass is growing very fast due to abundance of moisture. So far, the total precipitation at this station for the month of August is currently below average.
