For week of 9-15 Aug: (13.5+ 0+ 0+ 0+ 0+ 1.5+ 0.5)= 15.5mm. Mildly dry. High's: +25C to +29C Hx +37C; Low's: +19C to +14C; Wind: Mostly calm, any wind to V 10km/hr; Dew: every AM except Mon 10th. This week cooled a bit after Heat Warning ended night of the 10th, Mon. It had been so hot. The Hx lessened and it was bearable to be outdoors. The precip that we did get was always on the edge of a weather system. No thunder cells here. Thank goodness for morning dew. The deer have begun their grazing rotation. We often won't see them for a week. Typical for Aug. No signs of other wildlife, pretty quiet. Creeks and streams are low. Tourism, on the other hand, is strong and steady. Lots of RV's, quads, motorcycles. NS Power Overhead work continues. Preps underway toward back to school--that came fast! Mid-Aug, where did that time go?! In a few weeks, yellow buses will be back. Meanwhile, hoping for a little more rain.
