Near normal temperatures and rainy at end of the week. 
(04 AUG to 10 AUG) 

Precipitation for the period was 1.21”. +0.23” above normal for the period. 
Cal yr 27.73, +2.75” above annual seasonal normal.

Water Balance for August: +3.41” deficit
Water Balance from 4/12 to date: +1.2” surplus   

Soil Moisture 4” Depth: 30.7 cb – Normal. Change of -18.2 cb
Soil Moisture 8” Depth: 40.7 cb – Normal to Dry. Change of -32.0 cb

Temperatures averaged 73.9 degrees, +0.5 above normal for the period.  

Soil temperatures, for the period, at 2” have averaged 70.1 degrees, 4” average is 73.7 degrees, 8” average is 71.9. degrees and 20” average is 69.9 degrees. +1.7 overall increase, on average, from the previous period. 

Normal and wet on last day of period. 

Soil moisture holding at  4”  and 8” in the normal range.

Lawns are turning green. Some trees are stressed and losing leaves. Day lilies are in bloom and summer hibiscus continue to grow and begin to bloom and planter cherry tomatoes are ripe with 10 or so per day being harvested. 

Bird activity now is mainly sparrows, some doves, occasional robins. Squirrels, chipmunks and rabbits are out and feeding on grass and seed overspill from bird feeder.
