Based upon the rain received a couple of weeks ago going to say Moderately Dry. Still looking dry but plants aren't dying from lack of moisture. Even had some new plants sprout up the last couple of weeks. Still didn't get our full expected amount of rainfall in July - which is one of my location's wettest months. Hopefully the Summer Southwest monsoon pattern will pick up in August and help with the drought. I have noticed that many of the local plants are stunted with flowering and seed setting on much smaller plants than normally observed. Birdbath is frequented very often by many variety of birds. Hummingbirds are drinking down my feeders much more quickly than they have been the past few weeks - perhaps some of that is more population due to successful breeding this year as well as a lack of natural forage. I'm sure they are also attracted by the irrigated part of the garden that is heavy with hummingbird friendly flowers. Stream flows are less than 50% of normal for this time of year. I do not have good numbers for my monthly precip as I had to do a multi-day precip report over the July/August month change. Year-to-Date and Water-Year-to-Date precipitation totals are at 73% and 69% of PRISM Normal respectively. I am still under an outdoor burn ban - no open fires, no charcoal grills - if it doesn't have an off switch you can't use it.
