I did not record any rain during this past week. The area is officially considered to be in a severe drought condition. The soil is very dry, hard, and cracked. Shallow rooted plants such as grasses in non-irrigated areas are brown.  Larger pants are starting to show signs of stress. Burning bans are in effect in the area and there are numerous active wildfires statewide, but none in the immediate area.  There is sufficient water in lakes and rivers to support wildlife.
