We are well into Fogust now. Some nights this week we had fog and drizzle heavy enough to leave a very small amount in the gauge. We get these conditions when the temperatures go up to 100 inland. The marine layer persists most of the day with some limited sun in the afternoon. This moisture helps keep the landscape from totally drying out, but ground water levels are continuing to drop. Ocean conditions have been quite calm most of the week, which is good for water sports and fishing. The local RV parks and camp grounds are packed with lots of tourists beating the inland heat. Starting to see the small birds beginning to flock for the winter season, mainly groups of Chickadees and Pygmy Nuthatches together coming in after the suet.
