This week wraps up under near normal conditions. The gauge catch captured 0.12 inches of rain but the humidity has been oppressively high throughout the week and temperatures have never gotten beyond the mid-80s. Cloud cover has also been common. Surface soils are starting to dry and lawns are still mostly lush and green. Local agriculture remains robust which is spilling over into farmers’ markets and roadside produce stands. The beaches have been busy but not as much as the prior weeks and a variety of outdoor activities remain strong. There seems to be a certain sense that summer, while still strong, has peaked.
