Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: CO-BO-596
Station Name: Boulder 1.9 SE
Report Date: 8/8/2026
Submitted: 8/08/2026 5:27 PM
Scale Bar: Severely Dry
Description:
We’ve had 0.01” so far in August (2% of avg), and no rain is predicted before the next report issues. 7.72” so far this calendar year, 63% of avg. 9.20” so far this water year, 60% of avg.

On top of prolonged drought (we’re in roughly month 11), we have been in a prolonged period (months and months) elevated temperatures. What little moisture we have gotten in the past year has evaporated or transpired quickly. Neighbors’ lawns which aren’t getting tons of water dumped on them look terrible. Flowers look terrible. Many trees are beginning to show signs of water stress. Grasses in wild lands look brown and dry. Wildflowers have been pretty nonexistent this year. We are getting bears in our neighborhood, which is a rarity; they are seeking water and food, because there isn’t much for them in the Open Space.
