We only had 0.34" of rain this week but things are still green and healthy looking. Our concord grapes are ripening. Tomatoes are turning color. Green peppers are plentiful and being cutup and frozen. When weeding the soil is still nice and crumbly. Grass is being cut weekly. Several types of mushrooms have appeared in yard again. One is the odd looking Dog Stinkhorn. One on-off brief power outage today.  Not sure why. It isn't windy or stormy. It was 90 degrees though maybe too big a demand for power? No standing water in the overflow pond and the surface mud seems to be drying. Raccoons are muddying the water buckets in barn. I haven't seen foxes since towards end of July.  Maybe too dry for them?  The doe and her youngest twin fawns are seen a couple times a day in the front alfalfa. They sure like our alfalfa. The squirrels ended up eating all the immature pears on our tree. That has only happened one other time I can remember. I have been finding a number of dry locust shells hanging from tree limbs and bark. Things seem pretty normal for early August.
