Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: IL-LG-2
Station Name: Lincoln 0.6 NNW
Report Date: 8/8/2026
Submitted: 8/08/2026 9:49 AM
Scale Bar: Mildly Dry
Description:
Once again the Lincoln area was missed by beneficial rains the past week, with only 0.10" of rain measured the past seven days. The past 30 days (Jul 9 - Aug 8) only 1.20" of rain was measured, which was only 30% of normal. Most of that rain (0.74") occurred in a 24 hour period around August 1st. Grasses are still brown/yellowish in areas exposed to full sun. Some trees are losing leaves near their tops & unwatered plants are showing moderate stress. The ground is cracked and hard in many areas. NOAA's WPC is forecasting around an inch of rain for this area for the upcoming week. If it occurs, that will help quite a bit. If not, we'll be headed toward moderately dry conditions.
