For the week 8/2 - 8/8 2026 ----- EARLY MORNING TEMPERATURES at Data collection: Aurora: 56, 51, 61, 59, 53, 66, 61 & Kingsford : 58, 51, 63, 61, 54, 64, 60 ----- WATER CONTENT IN THE GAUGE: AURORA - 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 .02 Total= .02" KINGSFORD - 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, .02 Total= .02" ----- SNOWFALL- Aurora and Kingsford : nothing no snow -----MENOMINEE RIVER: Water levels all week at a low summer water flow height again Cubic feet per second in the 900's and mid week increased into 1200's starting to drop Saturday a.m. ----- US DROUGHT MONITOR: all of Florence County is Abnormally dry except the Southwest corner of the county which is in the moderate range. Almost all of Dickinson County MI as normal except the Southwest corner of it which is abnormally dry-----WILDFIRE RISK: Aurora and & Kingsford are in the Very High category ----- TOURISM: Another good week for tourism as campers of all sizes and models drove by I happened to notice 6 and sure there were more. Boat towing was up this week as well ----- BUSINESSES: HVAC and construction vehicles at an increase. Saw 2 farm equipment pass by as well. Loggers have been steady this week but a little less than the week prior. ----- AIR QUALITY: Fire smoke still in the air but nothing like how it was in July ------ WILDLIFE: Abundance in Deer, Blue herons too on the river as well as Canadian geese and ducks, owls, hawks, crows and ravens. Seagulls showed up this week. What I haven't seen are eagles. ----- PLANTS: Red Maple in my yard is 1/3 covered in red leaves, Wild Onion I planted bloomed, Black Eyed Susans wilted.
