With another 1.34β of rain this week after over 7 inches in July has left conditions mildly wet for the first week of August. The Pascoag Reservoir is up to 9β3β and overflowing the spillway and easily the highest itβs been all summer. The lawn is growing quickly and needs mowing more than once per week when it would normally be mostly dormant this time of year. Hummingbirds, bluebirds, catbirds, swallows and woodpeckers are very active in the area. Hiking trails at Sprague Farm and George Washington campground are moist for August with streams flowing strongly and mushrooms popping up like crazy. Water sports on the lake continue at a high rate as well. Fire danger is posted as Low at George Washington campground.
