No doubt: moderately Wet this week. Received over 3.5" of precipitation (Reminder: Tropical Storm Debby at this location was ~4" of rain in one afternoon in 2024). While the ground HAS been able to drain, large storms caused/are causing *immediate* puddles, field and street flooding, and basement water. I'm pretty sure if you sneezed outside right now, a puddle would appear. So far, no concomitant damage (trees falling over, things swept down rivers) because the rain has been arriving heavy but without wind or gusto. While these rain amounts are concerning, it is not epic at this time.

Trees are very lush. Apples are dropping. Grass is thick but not too tall. Flowers are bending in the rain, but no permanent damage.

Tomatoes are turning ripe in my garden but the rain appears to be slightly delaying sweet corn from the fields. Plants in pots have mushrooms popping up with them.

Hummingbird reappeared. A nice variety of bird calls sound just after 5 a.m.

Allergies have been moderate.

We are definitely receiving too much water; the air does not cease to be muggy. The house has been making some "full of humidity" creaking sounds. If anything, this week feels like the "fat week" of August. We are just reaching the crescendo: fresh vegetables to eat and no signs of autumn. The only hint that something is changing is the quietly decreasing daylight, which has been, admittedly somewhat hard to detect when we've been under such damp gray skies.
