What a difference 2 days make. Ended July 2026 with MTD rain of 1.49 inches, only 39% of NOAA 30-year norm. By 8 am today, my station has received 2.93 inches of rain, +2.68 inches, 1,186% of normal! Don’t remember seeing that overage in the 19 years, 5 months, 9 days that I have been reporting.  Steady moderate to heavy rain occurred without drama - no lightning/thunder observed.
Standing water in ditches, plants are healthy and lush, ground is saturated. YTD: 28.01 inches of precip, +5.41 inches, 124% normal. WYTD: 34.66 inches, +4.59 inches, 115% normal. Not having to hand water is a relief.
