Conditions have become considerably more dry in the past couple of weeks due to only receiving 0.03” of rainfall. Temperatures have been mostly in the 90s but was only in the mid 80s yesterday with passage of a cold front. Plants and crops are seriously drought stressed now. The lawn is mostly brown and trees are turning color and starting to lose leaves. I’ve been having to water the landscape plants and lawn to keep everything from completely dying. Local pastures and hayfields are drought stricken. The small stream nearby has dried up completely but that isn’t unusual for August. There is a moderate danger of wildfires due to brown vegetation and lower humidity and wind this weekend.
