We had patchy rainfall this week, only a quarter inch in town, up to 2" just 10 miles NE of here. Swamps remain dry, lakes without dams are low, beavers moving to lakes and areas with water. Non-irrigated crops in trouble in the dry spots, and one corn field near Dorset looks terrible - dry and wilted stalks, silage material if that. Lawns and non-watered spots on the golf course are brown. Some trees are stressed, dropping brown leaves. Severe, multi-year summer drought continues. July has been hot, well above normal.
