Station Number: MI-AN-25
Station Name: Plainwell 0.5 WSW
Report Date: 8/2/2026
Submitted: 8/02/2026 9:07 AM
Scale Bar: Mildly Dry
Description:
Our conditions this past week were Mildly Dry with 0.35" of rain falling over 3 days. Daily high temperatures were about seasonal average, going into the low 80F's every day, except for one day where the high got to 87F and yesterday where it only got to 71F. The air quality has been relatively good with low levels of wildfire smoke compared to a couple of weeks ago. Lightning bugs are flashing after dark, but are much rarer now compared to the beginning of July; other night creatures are now peeping, croaking and carrying on loudly after dark. Lawns, which were turning brown, were revived by this weeks rain showers so they look greener than a week ago; grass growth has slowed or stopped except for crab-grass, which is doing just fine. Our July monthly precipitation at this site amounted to 2.56", which is 0.98" below our PRISM July average.
