Conditions here have improved to moderately dry. Our region has been downgraded to being in "moderate drought." Portions of NC are still classed as in severe drought Central NC received several rain events including 12 inches of July rain at Raleigh about 20 miles away. This station measured over 6 inches of rain. Some local water use restrictions have been lifted depending upon location. Cooler temperatures accompanied the rainfall events and humidity has decreased from the "tropical feel" of the last several weeks. Water levels have rebounded in some local reservoirs, although water use restrictions remain in place as a precaution.
