Another 1.83” of rain this week and 7.21” for July has conditions up to mildly wet for the first day of August. The Pascoag Reservoir has risen to 9’0” and is slightly flowing over the spillway for the first time this summer. Boating, fishing, tubing, etc. are in full swing on the lake. The lawn has completely greened back up and needs regular mowing when it is typically dormant this time of year. Rose of Sharon are in full bloom. Hiking trails at Sprague Farm are moist but not flooded and brooks and streams are flowing strongly enough for a game of Pooh Sticks. Birds of all types are very active. Fire danger at George Washington campground is posted as Low.
