We received a tiny bit of rain overnight, but it wasn't enough  to wet the soil.  Part of my backyard that is bare and constantly used by people and dogs has been dry and dusty all week.  We finally seem to be drying out for the season.  Mowed grass dried and browned quickly in the heat this week.  It was way too hot for a few days in a row.  Not many critters moving around in the heat and I had to water my houseplants this week so they didn't croak.  My white peach tree dropped enough peaches that I could make a peach crisp last weekend.
