Recent rains have improved conditions locally.  Rainfall for the month is 6.05" and is 1.49 percent of normal (+1.99").  Since June 1st rainfall is 8.99" and is +.91" above normal.  However, rainfall for the year is 22.45" and is .84% (-4.41). A wetter rain pattern which started in July has improved certain water supply indicators, but  

prior dry conditions caused by the prior two years of below average precipitation have not 

yet been overcome, particularly for streamflow and unconfined groundwater. Localized 

flooding can occur in New Jersey, even during a during a drought. Between 0.03 and 3.9 inches of precipitation (average of 1.0 inches) were observed  

between last week’s Drinking Water Supply Indicators (7/19/26) and this week’s (7/26/26). New Jersey remains under a drought warning.
