Conditions toward severe dryness has occurred recently accompanied by very hot weather.  Lack of rain combined with the heat has caused bronze spots to show up even in my yard irrigated areas.  Weather forecasters have noted that the current heat wave will rank about fourth on the list of the most 90°F or greater temps in the last month on the record list.  With little rain over the last 3 weeks, the condition index to register severe.

  Other conditions noted locally include 1) river flows being reduced to minimal, 2) young trees and bushes dying in the heat when receiving insufficient water, and 3) crops showing severe leaf stress in broad areas of fields.
