Conditions remain extremely dry at least locally for lower elevations of northern Utah, where total precip for the calendar year has been about half of normal and under 2" total over the past 3 months. Some mountain areas a bit further east and south have received moderate to locally heavy rainfall in July and have at least some surface moisture. Temperatures have been consistently hot, far above average with daily highs/lows near to above 100/80 F recently at some low elevations. Fire danger ranges from high to extreme in lower to mid elevations and a mix of moderate to high in at higher elevations where rainfall has occurred.
