Some rain has helped our drought, although the dry leaves in the woods abound.  The garden is grudingly producing some peppers, but beans will not set fruit.  A fresh crop of weeds make the chickens happy.  Last Friday we had a terrific blast of asphalt odor, which I reported to the Environmental "Report It" website.  The response from our long-time contact at air quality was that it could have been all the heavy equipment working the sides of Hwy 701 about
where Mt. Pisgah Cemetery Road is- we're on the other side of that through some trees, and about 1/2 mile away. Here we go again.
