Over an inch of rain last week has kept the vegetation growing and temporarily increased the flow in the Hoosic River and Bassett Brook. Lawns and fields are green and growing with no sign of water stress. Gardens continue to do well. Coyotes have been active with nightly howling sessions. A pair of turkeys with a half dozen poults and numerous adult and young rabbits have been patrolling the yard. A mountain bike ride yesterday on Mt Greylock found the trails mostly dry with some muddy sections. Lots of people out hiking the mountain in the cool sunny weather. More mushrooms have been sprouting in the woods.
