Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: MA-BA-57
Station Name: Falmouth 5.7 N
Report Date: 7/26/2026
Submitted: 7/26/2026 7:16 AM
Scale Bar: Mildly Wet
Description:
Time to change the rating. We received 3.83” in the preceding week. This brings our July catch to date to 9.02” – by far our biggest July catch since we started measuring, and the forecast indicates we’re not done. We’ll gladly take it – we’re not far removed from PRISM average for the entire water year at this point, and we only got about 70% of normal last water year. Got an aquifer to recharge, eh? Soils are nicely moist – pulled garlic yesterday (albeit from a bed that benefits from drip irrigation too). Grass growth seems to be entering seasonal, rater than moisture-related, slowdown. Bogs show a good cranberry crop on the way. Pond level slightly high for this time of year. Wildlife activity is normal – osprey activity is way down. One sad note: our remaining cygnet seems to have been taken by a predator. There’s no lack of them around here…
