Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: MN-HB-40
Station Name: Park Rapids 1.0 NNE
Report Date: 7/26/2026
Submitted: 7/25/2026 11:14 PM
Scale Bar: Severely Dry
Description:
We have had hot days and no real rain. The last round of thunder missed us to the north, but thankfully fell on the BWCAW fires. Lake levels have dropped another several inches, lawns are brown and dormant to dying. Native flowers are pretty sparse and gardens need watering almost daily in the heat. Some bushes were wilting. We have does and fawns around our yard, drinking 5+ gallons of water a day that we leave out. Beavers are leaving dry ponds and heading for lakes, searching for available territory. Fire danger is a concern, mostly kept down by high humidity. Temps in mid-high 90s curtailing outdoor recreation
