Well our NWS forecast for rain during the week was right again, as this area did receive rain, a grand total of 0.05".  And while areas not too far away received a whole lot more, our persistent drought like pattern remains unfazed.  Currently, soil conditions are close to severely dry but with area waterways still not super low, it seems moderately dry conditions remain.  Trees are definitely wilting and in need of a good soaking while the invasive, tenacious and ever pertinacious, Morrow's honeysuckle continues to thrive.  Meanwhile, my lawn is in need of watering as numerous areas are turning brown.  As the years go by, it seems like I need to water my lawn more and more often.  I did see a pleasant sight the other day when a fawn was browsing close to the house and then later on in the yard.  It was pretty big but still had spots.  The mother was nowhere to be seen which surprised me but the fawn appeared to be doing well on its own.  Finally, I surprised a chipmunk that had gotten into my garage the other day that then hid in some old firewood in the corner.  I told it to go back outside and low and behold, it actually listened to me and did just that.  Now, to test out my new found ability on my better half.
