With 3.19” of much needed rain this week and 5.38” total this month, conditions are near normal for July. The Pascoag Reservoir is up to 8’10” which is the highest it’s been this year. With the rain and lack of extreme heat, the lawn is growing again and needs mowing more than once per week. Our hostas are just about done blooming and our hydrangeas are in full bloom. Deer are roaming our neighborhood and have been nibbling the tops of our cherry tomatoes. Catbirds, hummingbirds, waxwings, warblers and mallards have been frequent visitors this week. Boaters, kayakers, paddle boarders and fishermen continue to use the lake as conditions are great with the recents rain. Fire danger at George Washington state campground is posted as Low.
