I have unofficially measured 5.21” of precipitation from 7/1/25 to 7/1/26.
In July, 2026 we have had .24” of rain, most of it in the past two days.
I have done some UNOFFICIAL calculations to see how much water the City of Walsenburg has left for distribution. Assuming normal precip through the rest of the year, and consumption remaining as is, it would appear November, 2026 to January, 2027 would be “dead pool” for Walsenburg. More specifically, I calculate the last week of November as the time when no water will flow through the City system.
Feel free to check my math, but Walsenburg is facing an existentialwater emergency very soon.
