The past eight days have given us approximately 1 1/2" of rain. Brown lawns and pastures have responded surprisingly fast, now green or mostly green. That said the countywide fire ban remains in place. Also even with the abundant moisture Walden and all those who rely on the town's water treatment plant are still coping with the most restrictive water restrictions as we wait for a critical part needed to repair the facility. All said the overall conditions have done a figurative 180 in a week's time and we couldn't be happier.
