Thus far in my “Watershed,” that resides in the “Upper Passaic River” Watershed, that covers from 1.5 miles to the NW to about 1.5 miles to the SE and is about 1 mile in width and in the general shape of a diamond;

There were TWO days with measurable precipitation and zero days with trace precipitation for a total of 0.79, the past seven days [Sunday-Saturday]. 

River and stream volume the past week of this CMR increased and decreased the previous six days, their rates of flow over small lake dams west of this station. As of Sunday, 7/19/2026; one covered 10% the width of the dam 6.5 miles from this station moving at a moderate volume, with  observable turbidity. The other, 2 miles to the west also increased its flow over its fall, covering about 30% of its respective fall and moving at a similar volume, also with observable turbidity following 1” + of rain the previous day following another Saturday deluge in the afternoon where over 2+ inches of Rain.
The Madison Golf Course, adjacent this station had observable play all days, two between rain drops. The ground around this station is moist from rains and continue to loosen up and are moist to walk on. Grass and weeds required weekly maintenance. Active Birds around this station included; House Finch, Crows, Pigeons were all observed. Cardinals were heard. The Song Bird feeder was refilled this week and was entirely consumed. The Thistle Feeder was filled Sunday April 26, 2026 for the first time. As of this report, 4-8/10” has been consumed for a net of 4/10ths from the previous week.
The Hummingbird Feeder that was filled for the first time on 5/10/2026 and had observable use for the first time on 6/25. The feeder had zero consumption and no Hummingbirds were observed the past week but was refreshed on Sunday 7/19 with 1009g (starting combined weight).

Neighborhood squirrels, chipmunks and rabbits were all observed adjacent this station the past week. No Honey bees or wasps were observed working flowers except for one Bumblebee. Temperatures the past week had normal seasonal highs, warm, hot, wet and humid. Lighting Bugs / Fireflies first flash was observed on 06/17/2026, the past week, again with a great frequency, still continuing more than 10 flashes per minute around this station.

Over the past 31 days; this station has captured and reported 3.59 inches of precipitation. There has been 75 days of precipitation the previous 198 days of CY2026 [1/1/2026 to 7/18/2026] for a “Calendar Year” [CY] total of 
20.22”, compared to 82 days of precipitation and a [CY] total of
30.18” the same [year to date] in CY2025. So far, compared to last year, this station has received 9.96” less precipitation than a year ago. Some other totals from previous years, for comparison, are;

The TWELVE year running average total precipitation for this station is: 27.65 inches, decreasing (slightly) this stations total deficit to 7.43” less then the 12 year average and this year continues as the DRIEST year this CMR has been posted by 2.65”. Considering the twelve year annual comparable total for this station and total precipation from previous years, is why I believe that it is appropriate to hold this week’s report on the “Moderatly Dry” side of the Condition Scale Bar.
