No rain for the week at this location. We have gone from a near normal a week ago to moderately dry in just a couple or three days with no rain and the high temps we are having. A couple of days ago we had only a few spots in constant sunshine going dormant and now a bunch. Mowed some lawn last night, higher than I ever do as it was getting out of hand and will still have to sweep in some spots. Pastures need topped in some places but hesitate to do it right now as the dry weather they forecast earlier this year may be here. Crops are still looking good. Corn tasseled like crazy this week. Pastures still holding on but growth has slowed down. Wife says the soil in her gardens is dry, down to 4 or 6 inches. Zucchini, cucumbers and watermelon doing good. Potatoes looking promising. Evidently they like dry feet. Beatles, Fleas, Ticks and other bugs in the garden doing well in this weather. Trying to keep the animals as comfortable as possible with shade, fans and plenty of water.
