Moisture was high as rain fell on a regular basis early in the week. The ground was firm enough to walk on to pick up branches blown down from strong winds ahead of thunderstorms. I was able to spray glyphosate on the margins of the landscape because of a break in the rain on Thursday. Unpredictable popup showers for the past ten days have kept me from spraying and allowed the weeds to flourish. There have been a few mosquitoes buzzing around in the late afternoon and evening that have not been seen in a while. Pecan trees are still in active growth, and there seems to be a fair crop of nuts this season. Thursday and Friday were scorchers of days with a 105°F feel-like temperature. Everyone in the neighborhood cut their lawns on Friday!
