For week of 12-18 Jul: (0+ 0+ 0+ 0+ 0+ 6.6+ 0)= 6.6mm Moderately Dry. High's: +23C to +29C Hx to +31C; Low's: +15C to +11C; Wind: Mostly calm, to V 20Km gusts to 33km/hr; Dew: Very light to light dew all but 1 AM. This past week was very warm but not hot. The AM dews were a kiss of moisture. In 3 wks we've had 10mm of rain, coupled with a 3-day Heat Wave. The soil is very dry. Weeds which are profuse, pull out easily. Local creeks, brooks are dry. Grass is still growing, along with clover and weed flowers. The deer have plenty to eat. Pollinators are busy. The odd Hummingbird hovers in. We are currently on a RED Burn Ban. Up the Eastern Shore (1.5 hr E from Hfx) there is a wildfire on Mooseland Rd, which goes inland to a mine. The area has been evacuated. Back here, authorities warn the public, No Burning, Period. Tourism continues. We sure need some rain.
