0.14” of rain last week over three days, back-to-back. 1.82” of Evapotranspiration for the week. Temperatures typical for this time of year - morning lows in the 70s and afternoon highs in the upper 90s. Every afternoon the Heat Index was 100+ for many hours. Saw a rainbow Sunday evening (Optics Report submitted, photo available). Ground soil continued dry with cracks getting bigger - no significant rain. Still on two-week mowing schedule but last weekend the grass/weeds not as tall so growth slowed. Supplemental watering of containers needed. Held off on in-ground plant watering because of promise of chance of rain - hasn’t happened at my location so watering is imminent. Sunflowers started blooming in the prairie restoration area, Brown-eyed Susan plants are still blooming but are past their prime. Some plants looking wilty. Neighbor’s pond is still full but you can tell the level has dropped - guessing maybe half a foot. Wildlife still active - seeing a lot of dragonflies right now. FIFA activities are winding down in DFW. I haven’t wanted to be outside any more than I have to be due to the heat. Story for the week - uncomfortable heat, getting dry, some rain needed.
