From June 2016 through June 2026, monthly rainfall total inches were weakly related to monthly total cooling degree days during June (r -0.4). The most recent 30 days in months of June measuring â0â precipitation reported significantly lower cooling degree days than the most recent 30 days in June with precipitation âTâ or greater (p<0.05). These relations are independent of recorded air temperature, demonstrating rainfall as one of several factors affecting regional monthly/annual HVAC energy demands and usage during that place & time. The spread of June CDDs since 2016 has been 253 CDD. Sometimes June CDD was below normal, sometimes above normal. The future June CDD is difficult to predict or anticipate based on these past data.
