Precipitation through the first 12 days of July totals 1.03". Even though for the period so far, we have received 36.08" of precipitation against a 30-year-average of 35.27 through the end of July. The ground tends to be rather hard and plants around the house always seem in need of water due to very high temperatures in the upper 80s and mid 90s. More broadly, our hay field continues to grow. Local agricultural fields of corn and soybeans are green and vigorous. Area streams are near normal for July.
