Conditions here remain severely dry. We received about 2.45 inches of rain last week that has helped the situation. However NC is still classified as severe drought and water restrictions remain. Rain has helped lawns, farms and golf courses and some reservoirs show slight rise in water levels. Stage 2 water restrictions continue with warnings and possible monetary water purveyor fines for violations. Daytime temperatures are in the mid 90s above the "average" for the summer. Some relief from the heat is forecast for nest week. People are reminded to stay hydrated and avoid long skin sun exposure.
