For week of 05-11 Jun: (0+ 0+ 0+ 0+ 0+ 0+ 4.0)= 4.0mm Mildly Dry. High's: +21C to +32C, Hx +36C; Low's: +18C to +10C; Wind: Mostly calm, one day NW gusts to 32K/hr; Dew: some fog, 1 light, 1 heavy dew. This past week was a minimal recovery from the 3 day/night Heat Wave of last week. The past 7 days have been warm vs hot. The dews and fog have been a saving grace for plants and trees. Two weeks of no rain has minimized the gains of the last substantial rain. Several brooks are dry. But, the grass keeps growing, and the deer keep grazing. And a big surprise--our lone Red Fox is showing off a litter of healthy kits. Three of them. Playing on a neighbour's front lawn. Quite the playground. Plenty of tiny rodents (field mice, shrews) to munch on. The fair weather has allowed the NS Power crews to continue with Overhead work on Peggy's Cove Rd. Its a lot of work. Tourism continues with many RV's and tour busses, and motorcycles. The ocean is an inspiring sight; a real gift for those who have never been to the coast.
